I hope you enjoy the information contained with these pages, the intention of this site is to share my experiences in building a low cost, easy to construct home on a do-it-yourself basis.

By this I mean more than acting as the “owner-builder” typically found in the US or in Australia where the as the “general contractor” you take “project manager” responsibilities for your home construction and sub contract out all the individual tasks to separate contact teams – although I will be employing some local tradesmen on my project I intend to do a large part of the work myself in a true DIY manner – from pouring the slab and laying the bricks to fixing the roof this will be a true hands on project.

Finance

To add to the challenge  this project will be “bootstrap” financed, that is it will be built out of spare cash along the way with a significant cash injection !

Because of this the time line for the project is approximately 18 months, with a move in date next Christmas.
